AVS (Address Verification Service) is a security verification process where your client is required to supply address information during payment that matches what is on file with their financial institution.
When submitting a credit card payment, your client is required to provide:
- Full Name
- Credit Card Number
- Card Expiration Date
- Card CVV (Card Verification Value) code
- Billing Zip/Postal Code
If any of these pieces of information do not match what is on file with their issuing bank, the transaction may be declined.
If it is declined specifically for AVS reasons, then it means that the Zip/Postal code provided does not match what is on file with their bank.
Your client will need to reach out to their bank to confirm what Zip/Postal code they have on file for verification and then re-submit the payment with the correct information.
NOTE: Fullsteam/TPP Pay cannot override an AVS decline and force a transaction to approve.
